Our client is a fast-growing US-based company which develops innovative, natural biological crop protection products and plant bio stimulants. These products have demonstrated their value in key agricultural regions in trials throughout N. America and beyond and are currently registered in most US States. They are poised to rapidly grow their agricultural and T&O business and expand to other regions of the world as part of their international expansion strategy.    

The Position

The CEO is responsible for providing strategic leadership to the company and overseeing all aspects of its operations. You will work closely with the board of directors and the executive team, as well as other key stakeholders, to drive growth, ensure financial sustainability, and advance their mission.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing the company’s strategic plan and vision
  • Leading the executive team and providing guidance to other key stakeholders
  • Ensuring the company’s financial sustainability and growth, including managing cash flow and fundraising activities
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients/customers, investors, and other stakeholders
  • Overseeing day-to-day operations and making decisions that drive growth and success.
  • Representing the company to the public and media
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal requirements, including corporate governance
  • Fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence
  • Providing leadership and management skills to create a high-quality work environment
  • Lead in developing business globally in alignment with the company’s international expansion strategy, and lead in developing that strategy further by identifying and implementing new business opportunities. 
  • Identify and build key relationships with regional distribution customers.
  • Oversee and manage supplier/manufacturing relationships, product deliveries, formulations, and registrations.

Other important aspects of this position include:

  • The position reports to the Founder
  • The post is located in USA.
  • Percent of travel, 50% including domestic and international.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a proven leader who knows the North America agricultural markets and players.  He/she will have a proven track record of success in building volume and market share in a profitable and sustainable manner. 

Experience 

  • A successfully demonstrated track record of driving a culture of productivity and improvement – preferably including significant experience with major agricultural organizations. 
  • International experience preferred.
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Prior experience in a C-Suite level role
  • Fund raising experience highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in the agricultural inputs sector, including sales, marketing, and distribution
  • Experience managing budget and financial performance.

Skills 

  • Demonstrated ability to break down broad goals into actionable and achievable milestones with clear plans and deliverables.
  • Have excellent and effective communication skills – both oral and written. 
  • Leadership skills

Education level 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant agricultural field required, MBA highly preferred.
