Our clients are suppliers/blenders/manufacturers of specialty fertilizers, biostimulants, and specialty chemicals. 

Purpose of Position:  The Formulation chemist will be responsible for developing, testing and optimizing product formulations from concept to commercialization that support company growth and brand recognition.

Tasks and Responsibilities: 

Design and develop new fertilizer products, including granular, liquid, and slow release fertilizers

  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in formulation technology for branded products to sales and operations
  • Calculate fertilizer formulations to meet predetermined specifications and minimize raw material consumption
  • Evaluate existing products to make them more efficient, cost-effective, or sustainable
  • Design experiments, conduct tests, and refine formulas to optimize product attributes like color, stability, and efficacy 
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of supplies and chemicals to ensure uninterrupted laboratory operations
  • Provide assistance to ensure registration of applicable products
  • Coordinate with Director of Operations to establish and/or refine procedures for blend execution

PART 3: Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Agricultural Chemistry, Soil Science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in fertilizer chemistry, agricultural products, or a related field
  • Experience with fertilizer formulation, lab analysis, or product development is required
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for fertilizers (e.g., EPA, REACH, or other local agricultural regulations) is highly desirable
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
