We are currently seeking a regional salesperson for Ohio and Pennsylvania. The sales rep will work with growers to uncover needs and enhance crop production through solving problems and to ensure a smooth sales process. The Territory Manager will work to find new sales leads through direct networking in the community, business directories, client referrals, trade shows, etc., to increase sales for the company.  The territory for this position covers: OH, PA. Our client is a multinational supplier of crop inputs.

This is a unique REGION in the US culturally with a considerable number of Amish and Mennonite Farming operations.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Actively engaged in assigned territory with PCAs, Growers, Distributors and Extensions 
  • Demonstrates deep understanding of the market in assigned sales territory. 
  • Exhibits passion, energy and creativity in the sales and support of products and objectives. 
  • Results oriented and takes initiative, overcomes obstacles, and finds creative solutions to challenges. 
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly and concisely communicate product, market, competitive and customer data.
  • Makes sound agronomic recommendations to customers by presenting products and solutions to maximize customer outcomes. 
  • Represents the company as the expert in non-hazardous crop protection products and nutritional agricultural chemicals, many certified organic.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Life Science or similar agricultural work experience  
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in specialty agricultural product sales or development and marketing support 
  • Relationships and contacts within the Amish/Mennonite Farming Community**
  • knowledge of specialty crop production and cultural practices highly preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to entire territory region. 
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Solid computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word and Power Point a must. 
  • Familiarity with CRM software and proven ability to use it as an enabling tool to manage and drive sales.
