Our client is deploying a field of Robots which are helping growers stay profitable by minimizing pesticide applications for grapes and berry crops. This role offers you the opportunity to work with some of the most advanced agricultural robots in the world in real farming operations at a commercial level in a scaling company. We are looking for ambitious individuals who have a passion for robotics and are eager to help deliver sustainable agricultural services to farmers.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for making sure the robot fleet is operational, including predictive maintenance, service and repair.
- Day-to-day maintenance of the robotic fleet. This includes servicing robots in the workshop.
- Configure, calibrate and test new robots to ensure they are ready for the start of the season.
- Respond to breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain close communication with the Operations Manager on the status and need of spare parts.
Key essential background requirements:
- Candidates should have experience working with robotics or mechanical engineering,
electronics engineering, mechatronic engineering or equivalent.
- • Experience in debugging, testing, and assembling electro-mechanical hardware
- • Capable of following and creating SOPs and work instructions
- • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with mechanical and electronic systems
- • Excellent communications skills – Can clearly describe problems and follow instructions
- • Excellent problem-solving skills
- • Good team worker
- • Valid driving license
The Role
- As a technician, you will be responsible for:
- • Configure and calibrate new robots and test their functionalities to ensure they are ready for operation on customer sites
- • Travel to customer sites and provide field support
- • Support the development team with prototyping, testing and feedback
- • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems
- • Maintain detailed records of tests, repair work, and system performance
- • Collaborating with team members to improve and innovate robotics processes
Beneficial Skills:
- • Programming skills
- • Experience with ROS
- • Hands-on experience from working with machines
- • Familiarity with farming operations
- • Knowledge of Linux-based operating systems
