We seek an experienced, enthusiastic sales manager to generate revenue, manage existing customers, and expand the company footprint here in CA and on the West coast.
In this role, you will lead and develop sales and channel partners, providing growers with tools and technology to increase their profitability and save resources.
Our client provides growers with field management and monitoring systems that save resources (water, power), increase labor utilization, improve yields, and drive sustainability. The farm automation building blocks system allows any farmer to customize the right farm solution. The platform connects to any supported device, wirelessly connects to any base station, and monitors all information from phone or computer. This is a plug and play install that takes less than 5 minutes and is built to withstand the harshest of weather conditions. With a 5-year battery life, focus features include irrigation, manifold and pump pressure, vacuum pressure, fertilizer theft, water and fertilizer tanks, weather, soil temperature, moisture and power levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all sales efforts: Directly manage sales and build a sales organization.
- Build a sales team initially in California, then the west coast and eventually throughout North America. This is a unique opportunity to build a sales organization from the ground up.
- Set and meet sales objectives for the team and yourself.
- Develop the go to market and sales strategy, and build a channel network.
- Leverage your existing grower customer relationships and channels to create successful business outcomes for the customer and company.
- Promote current products and services as well as those in development.
- Integrate activity in adjacent functions (field operations, engineering, development, manufacturing) into a coherent and responsive customer success cadence with low churn.
Requirements:
- Must have deep agricultural experience and an extensive network of grower contacts.
- A minimum of 5 years sales experience having engaged in agriculture sales to growers in California.
- Ability to understand, explain, and sell technology to growers.
- Ability to present sales plans and results to Board members.
- Ability to bridge the gap between agronomists and technologists.
- Desire and ability to personally follow-up with customers and HQ to win new business.
- Entrepreneurial and enthusiastic by nature.
- Spanish speaking skills a huge plus.
- Bachelor’s degree focused on Agriculture or related disciplines such as Viticulture, Ag Business/Sales, Ag Tech
Compensation: Competitive base salary + commission + vehicle + medical
