Our client is a 100-year-old global supplier of fertilizer used in agriculture and specialty greenhouse/nursery. They have a global reach and specialize in water soluble fertilizers used in specialty crops. They have an extensive team in N. America, and remote Territory Sales Representatives located in strategic regions throughout the United States. Recent growth has precipitated creating a NEW sales territory, with a predominant focus in S. TEXAS, but also several Central US states.
Overview of Position:
This is mainly a market development role while maintaining an existing customer base. Primary focus is the Rio Grande Valley and greenhouse/ornamental crops in Texas. Target markets also include New Mexico, Colorado and the Red River Valley. The territory includes Central North America; from Texas to Manitoba, Canada and may be adjusted upon hire.
Duties include:
- Maintain and build relationships with existing customer base.
- Uncover new customers and opportunities.
- Create an efficient travel schedule for customer visits while allocating time for office work.
- Stay updated on global, national and local market trends.
- Work with the company’s agronomy group to develop fertility programs for crop advisors.
- Find and develop trial opportunities with growers, Independent Researchers and Universities
- Develop strategic marketing campaigns based on sales opportunities.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain to accurately forecast territory needs.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in crop science or similar discipline
- 3-5 years of sales experience in the agricultural industry, prefer crop inputs or related.
- Certified Crop Advisor preferred.
- Knowledge and established relationships within territory preferred.
- Passport preferred.

- Basic understanding of agronomic practices
- Baseline knowledge of fertilizers
- Understanding of Microsoft Office and commonly used software programs
